With part of Liam's Christmas money from Grandma and Grandpa in Kansas, we decided to get Liam a basketball hoop (the little tikes version). We were surprised when Liam was a natural at putting the ball through the hoop. We later discovered that his daycare center has one in the gym, so he's been practicing for some time. Here's a little video of the little guy in action.

Successful do it yourselfers!
For about a week now we have been prepping for and then installing a new bamboo floor. A few folks in WI have requested pictures so here you go. Our goal is to get the main living room/dining area done by kickoff so we can sit in furniture and watch the Packers run over the Seahawks! As you can see we are almost there. I don't know how but Liam manages to nap through the very loud nailing! He should be up from his nap and ready to cheer on the Pack as well.

We have the bamboo showing knuckles- so I took a closeup of what that looks like.

Where is the tractor?
Alright our house is currently under construction as Bruce and I are trying to be "do it yourselfers' and install a new bamboo floor in the living room and hallway. Well after many little hold-ups it is only partially finished and Liam's big tractor is in the basement. So Liam decided to take the little tractor he got from G & G Hinsa and go for a ride in the kitchen. Mind you this little tractor normally hauls a wagon with little plastic animals not a big 18 month old. So far so good, nothing is broken and Liam is happy!
on a side note I was informed at daycare today that Liam is now ready to transition from the crib to a cot! "Good luck with that one!!!!!"

Here we go a caucusing!
So we survived our first caucus. We headed over at 6:20 and got home at 8:45. It wasn't nearly as crazy as I thought it would be. A lot of standing around and waiting. The turnout was huge so there was barely enough room to move around the gym. Liam was a trooper in the angel pack on my back for most of the time. So...... the details, after the first go around only Obama and Edwards were viable. (We are Obama backers). Then the fun of trying to resort all of the nonviables began and after about 40 minutes we had another count and Obama, Edwards and Biden were now viable. We ended up with 57% of the folks and 21 delegates! It was an interesting mix of older folks, people like us, college students, and little kids running around. It was definitely an experience and we are glad we participated. Now that we have caucused- make sure you go and vote!

Christmas in Green Bay
We had a late Christmas celebration with family in Green Bay last weekend. Liam loved seeing his cousins and following them all over! I made a few capes for kids (although they only remain on for a few minutes). Sarah and I took in a cold but good Packer game and most of us got in a good sauna and snowshoe! Thanks G & G Hinsa
