Kite festival

Cousins Bryn and Henry came down with Aunt Sarah and Uncle Jay to see the Kites over Grinnell Festival this past weekend. We left the house by 6:30 am in hope of getting a free hot air balloon ride, but it was too windy. The balloon folks were great and let us try out the basket! The kiddos made their own kites and had a great time flying them. We also met up with Amy, Steve, Owen and Genevieve. Overall a very fun weekend!

Chalk the Walk in Mt. Vernon

We went to Mt. Vernon to the Chalk the Walk festival and met up with Amy, Steve, Owen and Genevieve. There is a big picture that you can pay to color in one square of (well it was two for one when we got there). Liam supervised Bruce's work! The best part was letting the kids color- they attracted quite a crowd!

Nature hike

A few weekends ago we went on a guided nature hike at Krumm, complete with expert advice on how to take pictures of wild flowers. It was great, except that I came home with a bit tick on my head!
